SUCCESSFUL U17 VICTOR JOT FOR ALEXANDRA

Forza sponsored player Alexandra Troy reaches last 8 in the ladies singles in the Victor Jot in Belgium.

Alexandra had a good 2 set victory over Scottish girl Alice Campbell, 21/16, 21/12 to set up a last 8 draw against no.3 seed, Italian, Katharina Fink. Alexandra put up a great show in the first only losing 21/15. Unfortunately the Italian took control of the second set winning 21/8.
Alexandra also had a great run in the mixed with partner, Michael Staunton. They beat two French pairs to gain a place in the last 16, where they had a tough match against eventual runners-up, also from France, Aymeric Tores and Emilie Drouin, narrowly losing out 21/14, 21/19. It was a great tournament for the young Ennis player.

Another Forza sponsored player in action at this event was Peter McDonald. In the mixed doubles, Peter and his partner, Kerry Fallon, beat a German pair in the first round an in the second round unfortunately lost to a strong English pair, 24/22 in the third in an extremely well fought match. In his mens doubles, Peter and his partner Michael Staunton won a thrilling first round match, against a good English pair 21/12 in the third, to set up a match with the no.1 seeds from Austria. They started off strong taking the first set 21/14 and were unlucky to eventually lose 21/19, 21/9.
